Our preschool and pre-kindergarten classes are designed to inspire the love of learning.  You won't find busy work in our classroom.  It's all about hands-on   learning, interaction with others, discovery.

CLASSROOM GOALS
  • To help each child realize they are special
  • To help each child develop confidence and a good self-concept by providing a loving and safe environment in which to play and learn
  • To help children establish a good relationship with their classmates and teachers by learning to cooperate, share and respect the rights of others
  • To give children opportunities to grow in independence, take on responsibilities and make appropriate decisions
  • To enable each child to learn basic social concepts and other readiness skills which will help prepare them for future school experiences

We strive for variety in the classroom.  Whether it be through the various stations in the classroom, visits from people from outside the classroom, or taking the classroom outside or on field trips, we want to expose students to a variety of experiences as each child learns in different ways.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Every child is a unique person, with his/her own interests, learning style, growth timetable and culture.  When given the time, space and opportunity to interact in a meaningful environment, a child can construct new ideas and link them to existing knowledge.

At The Learning Corner Preschool, we know that each and every child learns differently.  We also know that children learn by applying new discoveries and experiences to their existing knowledge.  Our philosophy is to act as facilitators in each child’s effort to learn and grow by sharing with them the time, resources and experiences they need to construct knowledge.

We would like to see each child develop his/her abilities by providing a well balanced variety of age-appropriate activities to encourage social, physical, intellectual and emotional development.  It is also our goal to see each child grow in confidence, competence and compassion.

We hope to nurture a zest for learning by providing an atmosphere which will allow them to learn about themselves, each other and the world around them.
