What Classes Do You Offer?
At TLC, it is important to us that your child is developmentally ready for the classroom. Life at school is like a whole new world to a child. For some children it will take more time to make the adjustment into the school environment. Our desire is to give your child the support and attention they need. Our experience has been that if after a month your child has shown no progress in adjusting to classroom life, they may need another year at home to develop the level of maturity needed to learn and grow in a classroom setting. We will always strive to work with your child if they are struggling to adjust. After a month, if we are not seeing some progress, we will set up a conference time with you and see if there are adjustments we can make to help your child make it through this transition. But keep in mind it is not uncommon some 3-year-old children, particularly boys, simply are not ready for the preschool experience. Together we will determine the best course of action for you and your child. If we decide your child is not ready, we will return your full registration fee, but the tuition will need to be paid for the time your child attended classes. Do You Offer Daycare Services? We are strictly a preschool. We do not offer daycare services. Our calendar follows the Chelan School District's calendar. What Are Tuition Costs? Please contact Tammy Hunter, the owner, either by phone (509) 682-0363 or use our CONTACT form to request this information. Does My Child Have To Be Potty Trained To Attend TLC Preschool?
It is understandable that some three-year-olds will need to come to class in a pull-up. This is okay providing your child knows how to use the bathroom independently. We understand that accidents may occur, but please understand we are not set up for changing diapers or pull ups throughout our class time. Our program is designed as a preschool, not a day care. Is TLC a Christian School? We are renting our classroom space from the Christian Church and are very grateful for their kindness in allowing us to be here. Our staff are not members of this church but they do attend other local churches. We do not consider our preschool to be a “Christian” school because we do not intentionally fill the curriculum, library, learning stations, and conversation with “Christian” topics. There will be occasion you may find us playing “Christian” music in the background (generally before and after class time). And we may occasionally talk about God when the conversation between ourselves or with the children leads in that direction. We will not preach to your child, but we also will not hide the reality of our beliefs any more than we would shut the mouth of a child who would share what makes them who they are. If you are truly uncomfortable with having your child in a setting where they may be exposed to religion, TLC may not be the best choice for you. Are Parents/Family Encouraged To Help In The Classroom? We encourage a parent, guardian, or someone special to each child to spend one day each month in the classroom. It helps us having a helper, and it is important to each child that someone special to them is here one day each month to experience their day at TLC. How Do I Follow My Child's Progress? Each child will have their own portfolio which will contain work samples, pictures, observations, and assessments. This will help us track the progress each child makes throughout the year. As a parent, you may also add any notes or comments of your own which will help us get to know your child better. |
